Module 7 - Culminating Projects
The term has flown by and it is time to "put it all together". This final project is your chance to show what you know to yourself, to your peers, and to Gail. It is meant to be highly reflective and all about the synthesis and application of "things learned". You will have a combination of work created (written and maybe some images, video, audio...) and a presentation of your work to Gail and any of your peers who choose to join in and learn from you too.
So let's start at the end... THE PRESENTATION
For your presentations we will use our online "classroom" which we have used for our optional class meetings and office hours. You will need to have a working microphone and headphones in order to provide your presentation. Since you will each need to present your work to Gail and your peers, it is necessary for each of you to select a time to present. All appointments will be during finals week December 9 - 14.
SIGN UP FOR YOUR FINAL PRESENTATION TIME:
In order to sign up for your presentation you will follow the link below. You will be signing up for ONE one-hour time slot - watch the dates and AM and PM carefully. You will have the first 15 minutes of your time to get "set-up" and comfortable with the Adobe Connect tool and your presentation will begin at 15 minutes past the hour. Your presentation should be no longer than 30 minutes. The "written" part of your final is due into Blackboard 24 hours PRIOR to your presentation.
In the unlikely event that you cannot find a time to present in the options available it is YOUR responsibility to let me know ASAP of other options available to YOU so she can work to provide one of those options.
If you have questions, email me. I can hardly wait to see and hear all that you have learned and all that you have to share! (Use the rubrics to guide you a bit...)

PS When the schedule is complete I will share that with you as you are encouraged to come and listen and learn from your peers' presentations as well.
THE PROJECT
Your first step must be to stop and reflect. Go back and reexamine the various modules of this course, the discussions, the work, the materials and resources. Reflect on what you have learned, think about where you are heading.
Next, choose a lesson or set of lessons which you have done recently or could have done (for those of you not currently teaching), and create a detailed, thoughtful, annotated description of the lesson(s)... include things which help to create a "picture" of the context, resources, methodologies, technologies, pedagogy, etc.
Thirdly, taking the lesson(s) you described, create a "next time" or "soon" description of how you would do this lesson or lessons given a bit more access to technologies or a bit more professional knowledge about the technologies you have. This is an extension of your learning. How you might grow, how your technologies might grow, etc. This is NOT about changing everything, but more about the changes technological changes might afford you in your teaching and your students' learning.
Fourthly, dream, dream big! If you had all the technologies you wanted in the same context as your other lesson(s) how would you and the lessons change if you had whatever tech tools and resources you wanted. Would your pedagogy change? Would the student outcomes change? Would the content change? What else might change, what might remain the same?
In all these steps the appearance of things we have learned and examined should make appearances - things like TPACK, TIM, new literacies, technologies from our book and your wiki, and more.... integrate, reflect, synthesize, apply....
EVALUATION
You will be evaluated on your written work AND your presentation. It is important to keep your audience (Gail and your classmates) in mind as well as the class goal - learn, grow, synthesize and apply.
This project is worth 150 points.(90 for the "written work" and 60 for the presentation)
There will be rubrics posted on BlackBoard for these assignments.
DUE Dates:
All written work is due 24 hours PRIOR to your final presentation. You will submit your file(s) into BB9.
